Here are some more information for Wireless Ethernet:

Short for "Wireless Fidelity", WiFi is a networking standard that allows wireless access to Internet and download data.
WiFi transfers data over high frequency radio signals, and is only available when within range of a hotspot. WiFi technology is based on the 802.11 family of standards for networks and uses a radio frequency of 2.4 GHz.
These specifications were developed by the Wireless Ethernet Compatibility Alliance (WECA), which is still responsible for certifying new wireless hardware products as compatible with the standard.
The number of points of connection you need is determined by the amount of space you want to make available for wireless Internet access. For example...large hotels will need an access point for every 20 rooms (on average), while a coffee can properly service their customers in a single access point.
However, if you find that billing your customers is what you want to do, find a provider that can help you do so. Your hotspot kit should come with software that lets you take credit cards right over your gateway (the page users "see" when trying to access the web using your hotspot). You'll probably have a partnership with this supplier in revenues would be shared by both you and "them". The provider you choose make sure the hotspot is to function effectively. This lets you focus on your core business and receive a share gain check each month to your clients to connect to the net in your hotspot.
A good directory will show you that their WiFi hotspots located in most areas of heavy traffic, including airports, hotels, malls, libraries and coffee. With the right equipment, you can usually get access to the Internet for free or cheap, if you know the right places to look.

Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) - Description
Wi-fi is a wireless data networking protocol, which allows for
PCs and laptops to access the internet, within a given area or
"hotspot", via a high frequency wireless local area network
(WLAN). The term Wi-Fi was coined by the Wireless Ethernet
Compatibility Alliance (WECA) as another name for IEEE 802.11b
networking standard. WECA is still involved in certifying new
wireless modems in order to verify that they are fully
compatible with the standard

Is there such thing as a ethernet cable that's wireless?
I want to connect my Xbox 360 to a router, but I don't want to spend a ton of cash on the wireless adapter and I don't want a long cable going through my house, so I'm asking if there's such thing as two ends of a sort of wireless ethernet cable that connect to each other wirelessly.
If it were wireless it would no longer be a cable
But I didn't want to drop a hundred bucks on the wireless adapter either, although it is very easy to use. I just bought a linksys router which is up stairs and a little adapter that connects into the back of the 360, which is down stairs, with a ethernet
It is worth it if you already have one, or both, and/or are using one for another computer
