Not if you have a component cable already set up. if you don't, then I would either use a component cable, or a cheap hdmi cable. you dont have to buy an $150 hdmi cable, you can get them for like $40 at walmart or another store like that.

You will definitely love the higher quality of the picture once you do this. very crisp!
