Re: Mac Mini Ethernet Adapter Re: Mac Mini Ethernet Adapter Re: Mac Mini Ethernet Adapter Re: Mac Mini Ethernet Adapter About the Author http://install-how.blogspot.com/2010/05/mac-mini-ethernet-adapter.html How to set up Trendnet router.? I have a Trendnet TW100S4W1CA Router that I used with my DSL connection. It's wired - not wireless. This router is supposed to be cable and dsl -- but I cannot get it to work with my new Cable internet connection. I have gone through the set up process I found on thier website - but it still doesn't work. Any suggestions? If this isn't going to work -- what should I buy that will work?
As long as the router is not DoA (dead on arrival meaning that it 'works') it will work fine. What you probably need to do is contact your ISP (internet service provider). There are probably some setting that need to be configured in the router in order for it to connect properly to the modem. First however here's some things to consider: 1. Make sure it's cabled correctly. Wall Jack > cable to modem > cable to router's internet port > cable from one of the numbered ports to computer. 2. Check and see if the ISP gave you any type of information on your connection type or on your username/password. This info will have to be entered into the router. Even if all this is correct, some ISP do MAC address filtering. Every device has it's own unique MAC address. The ISP will only allow it's modem to connect to one MAC address so when you changed from your computer to the router, the modem is seeing an new MAC address and will not connect. The only solution for this is to call the ISP and tell them you've hooked up a new router. They will update the info on their end and will get it working for you.
