To switch from standard to HD with Comcast Cable, do I just need to buy/rent HD box?

I'm getting a new HDTV, the current TV we have is really old and definitely not HD compatible. Right now we just have plain digital cable service.
It looks like I just have to switch my cable box for an HD one to get the hd channels, is that all I need to do? Or will I need to subscribe to a new package at a higher price?
