how to port forward in cisco soho router series?

there is LAN network in my building, now i want to access my office remotely just from my home mostly. so that i have to configure the router. the local address of my office is 192.168.x.y and my public ip address of the router in my office is X.Y.77.34.
so how do i forward port for remote desktop connection in the router in my office? and my second question is, i cannot login to the router, so what is the defualt user name and password if there is? OR if not how can i login without disturbing the rest network?
and one more question if my office router gets internet from other router which i don't know where it is, so can i use remote desktop connection to the router in my office? thanks for ur help

The easiest way to do this is to ask your IT guy/department to forward a port for you to use or setup a VPN for you. If the router is still using the default username and password (I seriously doubt that) then your IT department is a joke. Seriously just ask them, depending on the size of the network, they would have been asked before. It's not hard for them to setup for you and is much better than trying to access a network you are not allowed to access.
