Drivers cannot update?

i have a IBM Netvista machine type 8305 model 41A, HPDX2100 Microtower, Dell Optiplex GX240 and GX260, IBM ThinkCentre Machine type 9380 model A57 and finally HPDX2700 SFF... i downloaded their driver to specific site like dell, hp, ibm etc but once i install them, it will install completely and after restarting the PC, the hardware devices is not yet updated line NIC, audio and video.. what's the problem with them???

This would suggest that the installation package didn't install the relevant drivers.

Try right-clicking in device manager & letting the system search the hard drive for a suitable driver. If it comes back saying no suitable driver found, then the package wasn't the correct one for those pieces of kit.

You've not mentioned your O/S, but, ensure that you are using the driver for the correct operating system. Vista won't accept many XP / 2000 drivers.

Search the manufacturer site again.

If you find nothing obvious & you know the exact model of each component, try searching on driverguide.com.

If you don't know the model numbers, whip open the cases & search the internet & driverguide.com for all the numbers you find on the chipsets.

You haven't mentioned what operating system you are using, but, if Vista - it won't accept XP / 2000 drivers & a lot of older kit isn't supported by Vista.
