Today small form factor (sff) pc demolish the myth that bigger PCs are faster that's why many computer companies are in need of change and reform to continue to keep up with the new technology. With the advancement of power efficient and small components, Small Form PC is growing segment of the computer industry. These systems can be small mini PCs, slim cases, or cubes that use less desktop space than a traditional desktop computer does but still offer a wide range of features.
SFF PCrepresents a new footprint for computers. As there is no universally -agreed definition of a small form factor pc, most generally it describes a computer that is enclosed in a substantially smaller chassis than a standard PC, designed and specifically engineered as an application-specific subsystem. Today's most popular custom small pcs is all of similar size, having roughly square dimension in height and width and being somewhat longer.
Custom SFF PCs are the machines with same capabilities as a full sized desktop. There are varieties of Small Factor PCs, slim cases, or cubes that use less desktop space than traditional desktop PCs does but still offers a wide range of features.Custom Small PC manufacturers can pack desktop-type performance in a package the size of a cigar box. Small form PCs perform well even if they are comparatively small compared to standard computer systems. The earliest SFF computers were the Slim PCs. The space for the expansion cards were removed, reducing the desktop computer systems in half. Then, cube SFF computers became popular among PC gamers. Similar to over-sized shoe boxes, Cube SFF computers have minimal expansion slots. However, the shape allows PC gamers to put graphics cards, resulting to advanced graphics. These days, Mini PCs are the latest SFF computers. These computers are petite, resembling a stack of a few DVD cases. Mini PCs do not have a mouse, keyboard, or display.
The Small Factor PC offers versatility and durability and is ideal for countless applications. Custom Small PC can be used for financial, education, factory, healthcare and government industries, as wells as for point-of-sales systems in kiosks and restaurants. They are space-saving, are easy to set up, and upgrade, require less power (allowing you to save on your electricity bills), and have lower maintenance costs compared to regular desktop PCs. However the choice of an SFF PC can be just as much about aesthetics as it is performance. With the multitude of SFF choices available, there is hardly any need to sacrifice performance for a looks.

My pc does not restart after standby?
If my PC (compaq d530 SFF) goes to standby automatically it does not restart when I hit the keyboard or move the mouse. I am forced to power cycle the PC to get it started. Does anyone have any ideas why this might be and what can be done? Thanks
have a look to see how long you have set stand by for, it might be going in to hibernate mode
