How much Power would Radeon x1950gt crossfire need?

The manual said it needed 550 Watt power supply, but i have seen on newegg a custom built pc with 450 watt case power supply and it can run x1950gt in crossfire. I have a 500 watt power supply ready for dual graphics and im wondering if that is enough?

I've seen some benchmark test results and it showed the X1950 idle at around 38 watts, medium usage at 50 watts, and heavy usage at around 138 watts.
