I have q6600 quad core processor and a intel x38 mother board what else do i need?

i have q6600 quad core processor with an Intel BOXDX38BT LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail. What i was wondering was what else do i need besides the hard drive to get this computer going like all the parts and the best/affordable deal. I need a graphics card(i want one that will handle all the new games and also will look good on my 32" flat screen, is there any graphics card that has an hd port on it if so i want that one), i need a sound card i think or does this motherboard come with one. How much ram? And if i'm forgetting anything let me know?

Well, you'd probably want to get 2GB of memory to be safe, seeing as how what you are doing seems to be a very high-end application for a computer. I assume you are trying to turn a computer into a sort of Home Theater system.

First, let me list what you are forgetting that you WILL need a CD drive to install windows or whichever OS you choose. (Obviously you'll need a copy of that OS too) Also, the board comes with 8-Channel audio, so unless you want some high-fidelity audio (Which means buying some sort of Creative sound card) you probably should stick with the board audio. You'll need HD cables and a high-end Radeon or Nvidia card. Just look for a card with a little circular hole on it. Make sure that you get a sound system to cover all 8 outs for the audio. That's about it.

So Basically you need...
1. CD Drive
2. Copy of OS
3. HD Cables
4. Graphics Card with HD (Graphics card with a little hole)
5. Sound system (8 Channels)

My Recommendations...
1. A cheap DVD-RW drive (Any company should do fine)
2. Windows XP Media Center
3. Just plain HD Cables
4. 8800GTX by XFX (If you don't have ridiculous amounts of money for that card then I suggest a Superclocked 8600GT by EVGA)
5. I'm not big on sound systems but anything by Creative should do you just fine.
