how to disable usb drives like external HDD and pen drives in windowsxp professional?

I like to block the access of USB drives like external HDD and usb pen drive in windows xp professional operating system. i need only system drives and cd rom access only.
i need to block the usb drives, without disabling the usb resources.

Do this to disable access to USB storage devices:

1. Open Notepad
2. Copy and Paste the following in that notepad:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesUSBSTOR]

"Start"=dword:00000004

3. Go to save as and save this file as Disable.reg and select Encoding as UNICODE.

4. Now Open another notepad.
5. Copy and paste the following in the new notepad:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesUSBSTOR]

"Start"=dword:00000003

6.Go to save as and save this file as Enable.reg and select Encoding as UNICODE.

7. Now close all the notepads.
8. Now go to the place where u saved those disable and enable files.
9. You will notice that you have got two Registry editing files.
10. Now if you double click the disable file It will ask YES or NO. If you select YES, and restart your system. Your USB storage will be disabled.
11. If you connect a Pendrive or External HDD it will not detect.
12. To enable the storage again you have to run the enable file and restart your computer.
