If you haven't actually read or seen The Secret you may be hearing a lot of jargon thrown around that doesn't quite make sense. The book that inspired The Secret was written over a century ago so some of the language may sound "cute." People thought and talked in a different way back then, and sometimes you have to give them credit that when they said for example "men" what they really meant was "people".

Things were different back then. The discoveries of quantum physics were forcing people to re-think their relationship with life, the universe and everything. The works of people like Edgar Cayce, Charles and Myrtle Filmore and Ernest Holmes were causing people to think in new ways.

The old ways were being swept away. Science was moving inexorably closer to the realm of spirituality. We learned that we had an effect on the world in which we found ouselves.

We started looking at the world around us as something we could have an effect on. We discovered we could influence the outer world with the power of our thoughts.

This shift in consciousness had far-reaching consequences! This didn't just influence the New Age religions. Many of the things we take for granted today like Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich, Positive Mental Attitude and the areas of literature, art and music show the influence of this new way of thinking.

Many people may think the philosophy of the New Age culture sounds like The Force of Star Wars fame, which "surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together." This view of a universal substance that is everywhere present is described throughout history in culture and belief and is described by Wallace Wattles as "a thinking stuff from which all things are made, and which, in its original state, permeates, penetrates, and fills the interspaces of the universe."

The idea was born that we had a say in the unfolding of our lives. No more pleading for the intercession of a Supreme Being! Such an idea was very transformational to the mindset of the time.

I like the way one person put it when saying "It gives us more power over our lives." How can we know the unknowable? It makes sense to this writer that if we are made in the image of a Supreme Being then we would be co-creators of our lives.

Do you believe in past lives? Whether you do or not, it should not dictate the way you live your present life! I would not like to find out in the end that my ultimate fate depended on whether I mumbled certain chants or rubbed magic beads in a certain order.

We create our own reality by the thoughts we think. This is something we've heard for years and sometimes never see the meaning. Like Edgar Allen Poe's Purloined Letter, it's been there the whole time!

How can I use a Power over Ethernet cable to connect to a hub and use PoE and non PoE devices?

I have one Ethernet cable running to a WiFi antenna. The antenna is powered by the Ethernet cable, using PoE. I want to be able to plug the current cable into a hub or switch, so I can connect other devices (non PoE) like an Xbox 360 or PC, but I also need to maintain the PoE to the antenna. Taking the antenna off PoE is not an option. What kind of device can I use to split this PoE line into PoE and non PoE cables?

Well, most POE devices come with a POE injector which puts the power on the line. That "box" will have TWO ethernet connections one which goes to the antenna has power on it. The other is a "DATA ONLY" cable. (also connected will be the power supply)

That data only is the cable that is connected to your computer! Put that to any switch etc it is just plain everyday ethernet!
