I have a dell computer,optiplex gx240,can I remove xp, without having the xp disk,or any other disk?

I am unable to recover the old original xp disk, and I do not have any to replace it , I am being hindered from my desk top, which is the system tray.. I just want my windows 2000 back at this point. Any suggestions?

Yes! First, go to Dell Support website, and make sure they have Win2000 drivers available for your Optiplex. Download them and burn them to a CD or copy them to a USB flash drive. Then pop in your Win2000 installation disk, reboot the computer, and follow the installation prompts. When you get to the section that asks you which partition you want to install Win2000 on, go ahead and choose the same partition WinXP is currently on.
