More Book questions please visit : BookFreeFAQ.com About the Author BookFreeFAQ.com If Edgar Allen Poe lived today, how do you think that would effect his poems? Do you think he'd manage to bring his gothic creepiness into modern topics of media consumption, terrorism and global warming?
He would have lived a lot longer, no doubt. First, they would have treated the rabies that killed him. Secondly, he would have had more opportunity to live a healthier life. He could have still been a newspaper editor, however I think he would have no doubt given it up after he sold the movie rights to his first short story. The commercial success probably would have ruined his literature as he began cranking out endless formulaic story after story to feed the media machine, ...just like, oh say, Stephen King. BTW, he probably wouldn't have written any poetry since he would shortly realize the money wasn't in it and his short stories were the cash cow.
