Here are some more information for Lan Device:

Check Wireless LAN Security
Things you can do to secure your wireless network.
1.Change the default Admin password on your Access Point (this includes the webinterface).
2.Check if the firmware for your Wireless Access Point and drivers for your Wireless Adapter(s) are up to date. Update if necessary. Keep checking for new releases in the future.
3.Use a high level of encryption (WPA2/802.11i strongly preferred) -- Use decent keys.
4.Authenticate wireless users with protocols like 802.1X, RADIUS, EAP (including EAP-PAX, EAP-PSK, EAP-TLS, EAP-TTLS, EAP-FAST, EAP-POTP, EAP-IKEv2, EAP-GPSK, PEAP, and EAP-SIM). These protocols support authentication credentials that include digital certificates, usernames and passwords, secure tokens, and SIM secrets.
5.Use strong encryption for all (userland) applications you use over the wireless network, e.g., use SSH and TLS/HTTPS.

6.Create a dedicated segment for your Wireless Network, and take additional steps to restrict access to this segment.
7.Use WLAN Security Tools for securing the wireless network. This software is specifically designed for securing 802.11 wireless networks.
8.Encrypt wireless traffic using a VPN (Virtual Private Network), e.g. using IPSEC or other VPN solutions.
9.Use a proxy with access control for outgoing requests (web proxy, and others).
10.Enable strict (sys)logging on all devices, and check your (wireless) log files regularly to see if your security policy is still adequate.

11.Regularly TEST the security of your wireless network, using the latest Wardriving Tools (the same tools the attacker will use). Don't use these tools on other networks, and always check local laws and regulations before using any wardriving tools.
12.(only provides very little security) - Enable MAC address filtering on your Access Point. Note that MAC addresses can be changed easily by the attacker.

How can I share internet from a Laptop(wired connection) wifi capable to another wifi capable device?
My Laptop has an dsl connected to it's lan adapter, wanted it to become a router or a gateway of some sort to be able to connect my other wifi device. Thanks
The ability to do this will depend on two factors:
x Your operating system (OS)
x Hardware available
To share the connection what you are effectively doing is causing your laptop to act as a bridge, this will bridge the gap from a wired connection to a wifi/wireless one. It will also be set up to create a small local area network (LAN) for other wifi devices to connect to it and be able to access the internet connection.
x Hardware
Since you already have a LAN adapter, you also need to acquire a WiFi/Wireless adapter - this is typically in the 802.11b or g standard of WiFi. It is best to stick with 802.11g as it supports faster speeds.
There are 802.11n standards available, but this has yet to be 'ratified' - aka, standardised so that all manufacturers can communicate with one another and work properly.
There are USB or PCMCIA WiFi adapters available and it depends on what your laptop is capable of using, it may be the case that it already has a WiFi adapter built into it. The only way to know would be to contact the manufacturer of your laptop with the model or check the manual for it. Same for whether or not to use USB or PCMCIA.
As for an ideal manufacturer/brand for these devices, Netgear or Belkin tend to be the better choice or any with an Atheros or Prism chipset, RaLink works but has poor signal quality.
x Operating System
For the operating system it is typically easier to find a guide for Microsoft Windows; using the feature it calls 'Internet Connection Sharing' that has been available since at least Windows 98se. So XP or Vista would be fine.
As you have not stated your OS I assume it will be XP or equivalent, the setup for ICS is similar with each that support it: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306126
x Setup notes
When you have installed or implemented ICS where you have stated that your LAN adapter is the internet source and your WLAN (Wireless LAN) adapter is where to share it out to, you may need to set the WLAN adapter up into either Ad-Hoc or Access-Point/Infrastructure mode. To do this you will have to see the manual or software for the WLAN adapter or contact the manufacturer for more details.
Ad-Hoc is mainly for device to device links, where as access-point or infrastructure mode is ideally for many devices to one links. Though the performance will decrease with each additional client connected.
x Recommendations
Ideally you should look into buying a router with built in wireless/wifi and switch. Since you have an ADSL 'modem' that connects via ethernet and not USB you can use any router that uses ethernet for its 'WAN' connections. Recommended brands are Linksys and Netgear; I would personally recommend a Linksys WRT54G.
However, you can buy routers that have a built-in ADSL modem but requires you to know the details of your internet connection (username, password, etc.)
You should buy depending on how many devices/clients you want to support and how far away you want to use them. 802.11n routers are backwards compatible (they will support 802.11b or g devices) but can hit with problems of not supporting all devices due to not being ratified as stated above.
The benefit of a router over using your laptop is that it can be 'always on' when you need it, and it can support faster download and upload speeds.
x Note
Regardless of which method you choose, remember to secure your 'access point' with security such as WEP, or preferably WPA or WPA2. Depending on what is supported by what's connecting.
I have tried to be quite concise while not going into too much detail, to give a better description of how to do it, it's best to give what operating system, laptop make and model, your budget and what other devices you wish to connect to and what hardware/peripherals you currently own that are applicable.
Hope this helps!
