Green cleaning is when a cleaning company uses eco-friendly products and practices. Switching to a green cleaning company will enhance staff morale. It will show by example to staff and customers that your business cares about the environment. Using a green cleaning company will improve staff health and most importantly contribute to the improvement of our local and global environment. Here is why your business should make the switch to green cleaning:
Environmental
Obviously, there are environmental benefits to using eco-friendly cleaning products and techniques. Green products are less harmful to water ways and break down more effectively. Green products also release fewer toxins into the air, which contributes to poor air quality. Green products have less or no odour and are solvent free, meaning your air will be and smell fresher.
Economical
Much of the time green products are more cost effective than regular chemicals. By insisting your cleaners use green products and techniques, you might even save some money. Green cleaning products are also reported to be kinder to your fixtures and surfaces. Detergent residue can damage your carpets and fabrics. Green products will keep your fabrics and carpets looking better for longer.
Using green cleaners and products might assist with any environmental standards or certification your company may participate in. You might be able to apply for government financial incentives by switching environmentally friendly cleaning practices.
Health
Cleaning products and chemicals are toxic. They release volatile organic compounds (VOCs) when they evaporate into the air. These chemicals are being used on your desks, toilets, kitchens, floors and windows and they contribute to poor air quality in your work place. Green products will improve air quality inside your office. This will reduce incidents of skin, eye and respiratory irritations and your staff will suffer fewer allergies and other reactions caused by VOCs. An improvement in air quality will improve productivity, because your staff will feel better. Cleaner air and less toxic surfaces will also improve the health and well-being of your staff which will reduce absenteeism.
Morale
By switching to greener cleaning methods, your business is setting an example to staff and clientele. By showing that you value environmental awareness and practices you can encourage them to do the same.
Your business will benefit from a positive attitude towards the environment. You can market your green choices and practices where appropriate and use it as a way to promote your business.
Your customers will be impressed by your active role in trying to reduce pollution and impact. They will see your choice to support green practices as an important value.
Your staff will appreciate that you are making choices that effectively improve their air quality and contributing to pollution reduction.
If your commercial cleaning company won't switch to using green cleaning products and methods, then you should look for one who will. These kinds of environmentally accountable practices and attitudes are becoming more and more popular and should be something your cleaning company can provide.

Switch Energy Suppliers
Switching your energy supplier is one of the quickest ways to free up hundreds of pounds you didn't even know you had.
According to Ofgem, the energy regulator, more than 2.8 million people made the switch in the first seven months of the year alone.
Now with the cold winter nights drawing in, there's no better time to find a new, money-saving deal that could even get you a better standard of service, or help you do your bit for the environment with a green tariff.
Why switch?
The best deals always go to new customers so by switching to a different provider, you can take advantage of all the great discounts and savings on offer.
But it's not just by switching provider that you can save money; rather than moving to a new provider but sticking with the same tariff type, why not see if you could save even more by opting for paperless billing or moving to a green energy tariff.
There's too much choice
If you're struggling to decide which tariff or energy provider is best for you, make sure that you weigh up all the providers before signing up.
A good way of comparing gas and electricity prices is to visit a price comparison website. You won't pay any more than you would by going direct and you'll be able to easily compare all your options in one place, and sign up online.
You'll also find information to help you choose between the many tariffs on offer, and compare added extras such as boiler and central heating cover.
Preparing to switch
Before going through with your switch, make sure that you've cleared any outstanding debts with your old supplier as they can stop the switch from going through if you still owe them money.
You'll get a letter informing you of your switchover date. Take a meter reading on this date to compare against your final bill from your old supplier and against your first bill from your new supplier, when it comes. This ensures that you don't pay for any energy usage twice.
How much does it cost to switch?
Switching to a new energy supplier is absolutely free. Not only that, but it could save you as much as £200 on your combined gas and electricity bills.
Make sure you know what to expect from your final bill though, as you might have to pay up on any old debts, or a backlog that can sometimes occur when paying by standing order.
Other ways to cut your energy bills
As well as choosing a new energy supplier, and possibly a new tariff, you should also think about the way that you pay for your energy. Anyone not paying by direct debit should do so as soon as possible because although you won't be penalised for not doing so, most companies offer attractive incentives for ensuring that your bills are always paid on time.

What made you decide to switch to green cleaning products?
May I also have your permission to use your answers on my green cleaning blog?
After reading various sources on the dangers of pesticides and chemicals in our food chain (in the last two years), I started reading all the labels on food products to weed out those with harmful ingredients. It then dawned on me that the products that I use for cleaning, or materials in clothing or furniture might also be contributing to the poisoning of Earth and my family. Not to mention the fact that eradicating all bacteria in the home can also weaken the bodies ability to fight infection.
I began with "green" cleaning products and rely on hydrogen peroxide and vinegar for bacterial problems but also purchase any product without harmful dyes and chemicals, particularily dish and laundry soaps.
Until recently, I hadn't considered the effect chemicals in floor products had affected my dog. But now I buy nothing that might harm her, including what she eats. Pet food not unlike processed human food is a travesty of waste product and chemicals.
I am also not a fan of these chemically induced "healthy water" products and energy bars. Sometimes I can not understand the process that would take water and make it "better"?
Feel free to use my testimony as I truly believe in the "green revolution". Our ancestors must be shaking their heads in disbelief for our need of natural products.
EU grants 1 million Euros for SME green advocacy
CEBU CITY – The European Commission announced its release of 1 Million euros, or approximately P65-million worth of grants for Cebu-based small and medium enterprise (SME) players, including exporters, to help facilitate the “greening” of Cebu industries. The grant, which comes in the form of technical assistance program, is intended to mentor exporters in pursuing legitimate green or ...
