Another great place to shop for Foundry Switch products is Amazon. They have more than just books! Here are some more information for Foundry Switch: Recent IBM big moves start with the mainland, foundry technology platform cooperation, not only to join hands with SMIC's advanced 45-nanometer manufacturing process, but also with the Wuxi CSMC an alliance against the mainstream 0.18-micron RF CMOS process technology and process orders for co-operation. China noted that the semiconductor industry, IBM actively use mainland-fab productivity, the full expansion of the mainland market is expected to influence the future of IBM technology, deep plowing in the mainland, and to compete with TSMC forces. Mainland China semiconductor industry said that the current IBM technology licensing for the field to take a more proactive approach, especially for urgent assistance to the continent Austrian technology platform fab, IBM actively seek opportunities for cooperation, not only for technology licensing rather open, not even rule out the way, some originally IBM, under a single customer, go to the mainland through the IBM fab to foundry, highlighting the semiconductor manufacturing process technology platform, IBM intends to round deep plowing in the mainland market through a broad alliance, the semiconductor market in China up some big flag IBM technology platform. In fact, most of the past, China fab no sources of technology umbrella, in the absence of intellectual property rights protection, it often occurs with large-scale wafer intellectual property disputes, like SMIC and TSMC have dragged on since the past the so-called class Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC-like) processes are also quite controversial, so many mainland Chinese foundry Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company intends to change the orientation process line, switched to a more open attitude towards the current IBM technology platform. The semiconductor industry that the China fab eco-change will occur, and to promote IBM and TSMC technology platform in the mainland market forces and changes occur gradually, the current IBM technology forces in the continent is rapidly infiltrated in advanced manufacturing processes, IBM has SMIC co-45-nm manufacturing process, the fastest mass production in 2010, the future does not rule out the two sides continue to move forward towards the 32-nanometer manufacturing process; process in mainstream areas, IBM has selected cooperation partners, and Wuxi CSMC 0.18 micron in cooperation with IBM RF CMOS process technology, has an initial deployment of about 20000 8-inch wafer production capacity to provide some IBM customers and its own customers use. The semiconductor industry, pointed out that CSMC is the continent's first to a process authorized by IBM to achieve mainstream semiconductor industry, the fastest in 2010 in the test-volume production, the future of the two sides will continue to develop 0.18-micron away from cooperation. CSMC is currently a single six-inch wafer fabs to 90000 per month in the next 8-inch plant will gradually expand production capacity to 60000. In addition, CSMC the past and the Singapore-based Chartered (Chartered) has Ownership and OEM relationships with IBM technology licensing to join camp, CSMC collaboration with IBM is also tracked. Physics Question about transformers!!? A small transformer used in a foundry has 550 primary turns and 20 secondary turns. Initially, the switch on the secondary side of the transformer is open, so there is no connection between the two ends of secondary coil. (a) What is the voltage difference between the two ends of the secondary coil, Vs, if a direct current potential of Vp = 120 V is placed across the primary coil? (That is, the frequency of oscillation on the primary is zero.) (b) What is the voltage difference between the two ends of the secondary coil, Vs if Vp is 120 V and the frequency of oscillation on the primary is 60Hz? (c) Now equipment powered by the transformer is put into use and the switch is closed. A resistance of 14 Ω is placed between the two ends of the secondary coils. What is the current through the secondary coil? (d) What is the current through the primary side of the coil with the switch closed? Thanks so much!!
A small transformer used in a foundry has 550 primary turns and 20 secondary turns. Initially, the switch on the secondary side of the transformer is open, so there is no connection between the two ends of secondary coil. As the voltage of the ALTERNATING CURRENT increases in the primary coil, an INCREASING magnetic field is produced. As the INCREASING magnetic field moves perpendicular to the loops of wire in the secondary coil, an INCREASING AC voltage is induced in the secondary coil. This INCREASING voltage in the secondary coil induces an INCREASING AC current in the loops of the secondary coil. The oscillating current in the loops of the primary coil produces an oscillating magnetic field, which induces an oscillating current in the loops of the secondary coil!! If the current in the loops of the primary coil is not oscillating, no oscillating current will be induced in the loops of the secondary coil!! AC electricity in the loops of the primary coil produces an alternating magnetic field, which induces AC electricity in the loops of the secondary coil. DC electricity in the loops of the primary coil produces a constant magnetic field, which produces no voltage or current in the secondary coil. Ratio of primary turns to secondary turns = 540/20 = 27.5 (Primary voltage) ÷ (Primary turns ) = (Secondary voltage) ÷ (Secondary turns) The induced current is inversely proportional to the induced voltage. Voltage = Current * Resistance (d) What is the current through the primary side of the coil with the switch closed? (Primary voltage) * (Primary current ) = (Secondary voltage) * (Secondary current) Primary current = 0.01133 amps One last thing to notice Primary Power = 120 * 0.1133 = 1.3596 watts 1.3596 watts ≈ 1.3601 watts (rounding has caused some error) Primary Power = Secondary Power I am now retired from 23 years of teaching chemistry and physics and enjoy helping people understand math, chemistry, and physics. Himfr.com reports IBM will join in China's fab, TSMC, to contend for technical cooperation
DIRECT CURENT DOES NOT PRODUCE VOLTAGE
So, the primary voltage is 37.5 times the secondary voltage, and the secondary current is 27.5 times the primary current.
(Primary voltage) * (Primary current ) = (Secondary voltage) * (Secondary current)
DIRECT CURENT DOES NOT PRODUCE VOLTAGE
(Primary voltage) ÷ (Primary turns ) = (Secondary voltage) ÷ (Secondary turns)
120 ÷ 550 = (Secondary voltage) ÷ 20
Secondary voltage = 4.3636 volts
V = I * R
4.3636 = I * 14
I = 0.3117 amps
120 * (Primary current ) = 4.3636 * 0.3117
Power = Voltage * Current
P = V * I
Secondary Power = 4.3636 * 0.3117= 1.3601 watts
