What parts of the computers determinant the speed of the system?

i have a HP pavilion m703, with windows Xp home. 2.39 GHz, 248 MB of RAM, and just replaced my old hard disk drives with two 200GB Hard drives. is the speed fast enough to handle the hard drives space? if i need to upgrade my speed, am i gonna change the GHz or the RAM? where i can buy them and what is the price?

I reccomend this 2GB will greatly improve preofrmace speed.
