What use is a USB cable with 2 male ends and one female end?

This cable was left over from previous office tenants. It looks like a usb extension, but it has the receiver (female) end, and the other end splits into 2 male ends, like you would plug into a computer. I am intrigued and cannot picture how this would be useful. Any ideas?
