How powerful is this custom computer I am planning to build?

For my case I am getting the Antec Sonata III,
Motherboard - is the Intel G31 Micro ATX Motherboard,
Processor - is the Intel core 2 Duo E4600
Hard Drive - Seagate Barracuda 7200
Graphics Card - Evga GeForce 8800GT
Memory - Corsair 4GP (2 x 2GP)
OS - Windows Vista Home Premium.

seems to me like you don't know really what you are doing, because of what you have picked and for your price. To answer your first Question it will run Crysis sure my 2004 crysis could run crysis, not well and it would be unplayable but it could. Your computer would run it at low settings still pretty good but not future proof. Save your money a bit get either GTX 260, 9800GTX, raedon 4750, or 9800GX2. CPU does not really matter 100% put it this way, if you got a 2.0 GHZ running it at 35 fps you'll probably run 40-45 with yours it is quite a bit but compared to your 8800 gt running 10-15 fps at highest then a gtx 260 running it at 35 fps its a big difference so cpu does matter but gpu is much more important. But you did have one thing right 2 cores is better then 4 in most instence, not because 4 slows it down, but 4's tend to be slower ghz then 2 cores but i would recommend the 3.0 ghz one for about 50 dollars more.
Memory is good motherboard i would recommend nvidia, and if you haven't already buy it at newegg.com much cheaper there.
