Does anyone know of a fax receiver with a PC interface?

I work with a few organisations who think it is 1979 and like to communicate by fax. As a result I get 2 or 3 faxes every year. Usually they are important documents.
I have tried a fax machine but the ink dries up because it gets used so little. Result - mysterious blank pages when I come home at night. I also bought a US Robotics message modem which is supposed to receive faxes in electronic form and transfer them to the computer via the serial port. It is a piece of junk and crashes regularly. Result - faxes don't get through.

Find one that prints by thermal transfer.
