i want to probably put in an AMD opteron into my laptop =/

Nope, and for two reasons.

Generally, server processors have a different socket than normal processors do. They're physically incompatible.

On the rare occassion that you do get a laptop with the same socket as your server proc, there's also the likely possibility that your laptop will not supply enough power to the proc.

Normal laptop processors are optimized for minimal power consumption, and the whole laptop is based on that. A server processor goes against that completely, being the power hog it is.
